Frigid temperatures have fallen upon us here at Duke, and we are all in need of expanding our winter wardrobes to adjust to the cold. The perfect solutions to your daily chills are the fabulous fur pieces we saw on the runways and in stores this season- FAUX fur that is. Faux fur is a warm, stylish, and most importantly a guilt-free essential to have for the upcoming holidays. Celebrities such as Kimmy K, JLo, and Olivia Palermo are constantly sporting and endorsing this trend these days- making it blatantly clear that going faux is in, and the real deal is out. Not only are the faux pieces more affordable, but also they look and feel just like the real stuff. So why splurge on overpriced items when you can easily have the cheaper, animal-friendly alternative? On days when the temperatures are not bitterly freezing, go with the faux fur vest over a long sleeve shirt or knit. The vest will add the perfect amount of warmth and style to any plain jeans and shirt combo underneath. But on the days when it’s actually too cold to function, don’t be afraid to whip out the faux fur coat. I’m not advising a Cruella Deville inspired floor length piece, but a shorter, neutral colored coat would look incredible, especially paired with a dressier outfit at night.
